Colorado House Kills Three Pro-Life Bills

Three pro-life bills were presented in a single meeting of the House Health, Insurance and Environment Committee on February 9th : abortion pill reversal information (HB17-1086), registration and inspection of abortion facilities (HB17-1085), and defining life as beginning at conception (HB17-1108).

The testimony in favor of the bills was impressive and came from multiple perspectives including doctors and nurses, lawyers, and even women who have successfully saved babies by using the abortion pill reversal treatment. Local Rep. Lois Landgraf aided the process by asking good questions of those who came to testify.

Looking Toward 2017

The new year is bringing with it new realities for the pro-life movement in the Pikes Peak region.

Nationally, the election of a Republican president with a Republican-controlled United States Congress (both houses) promises to lean the federal government perspective on life issues more towards the pro-life outlook than was present with the federal administration that is about to end.

PPCFL 2016 Fall Appeal

Fall 2016 BillboardWe recently completed a lengthy and controversial election cycle in which we ardently fought against physician facilitated death in all its forms – from abortion to suicide. Some battles for life were won –some were lost.

Out of this fiery political furnace “we the people” forged, with our votes and our ballots, a future direction upon which our society will embark.

Colorado Now a Euthanasia State

The passage of Proposition 106, which legalizes suicide by doctor, has made Colorado a euthanasia state joining California, Oregon, Washington, and Vermont.

Sold to the voters as a “compassionate” way to alleviate suffering, Proposition 106 employs twisted legal language and perspectives in order to accomplish its homicidal and grisly task: eliminating the sick, poor, elderly, and most vulnerable citizens of Colorado.

There is Nothing Beneficial in Murder

There are just a few more days left in what has been a very long election season.

If you have not voted, I urge you to do so by the November 8 deadline. Drop your ballot into one of the secure boxes around town to make sure it arrives in time to be counted (the box locations are noted in the paperwork that comes with your ballot). See our website for information that can help you select pro-life candidates and to reject anti-life ballot initiatives.

HOA’s Cannot Ban Political Signs

Churches across the state are handing out thousands of yard signs in opposition to the FATALLY FLAWED Assisted Suicide Proposition 106.

Some churchgoers have said they cannot take one because of the rules of their HOA… Here are the facts:

Prayer for Sanctity of Life and Defeat of Proposition 106

Lord God, we thank you for the gift of our lives, and for the lives of all our brothers and sisters. We know there is nothing that destroys more life than a culture that does not respect life from conception to the natural end of life. We now rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son. We are ready to do our part in ending this culture of death by committing ourselves to NEVER be silent, NEVER be passive, NEVER be forgetful of innocent human life, at any stage of life. We commit ourselves to be active in the pro-life movement, and never stop defending life until all our brothers and sisters are protected, and our nation once again becomes a nation with Liberty and Justice not for some, but for all.

It is with this in mind that we ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in our work and hear our prayers to give those who are misguided or misled a strong desire for “Objective Truth” regarding the preservation of human life, and to defeat Proposition 106, Physician Assisted Suicide. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN.

The Goal

What is the primary goal for any Christian?  Is it not to get to Heaven?!

Today in the State of Colorado, we face a major struggle over Proposition 106, the Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) ballot initiative.  The battle between those in favor and those against is focused on HOW one dies.  The argument for PAS is based on having the right, under certain conditions, to terminate one’s own life.  The main strategy for those arguing against PAS is to sow doubt about the implementation of Prop 106, thereby hoping the majority of voters will vote “NO” on it!  Both sides argue from a secular perspective.

PPCFL Survey 2016 Responses for Local Candidates, General Election Update

[Updated September 13, 2016]

In late January we sent our 2016 political survey to the local and state office candidates whom Pikes Peak area voters will be evaluating in the coming assembles and elections. In late February we sent the same survey to candidates for federal offices within Colorado (US House, US Senate, US President). Yet again in May we sent out surveys to additional candidates who had entered political races after we conducted our earlier rounds of surveys. We compiled the responses and presented them in an earlier post so you could make informed decisions in the primary election.

Colorado’s Homicidal Ways

How many people have to die before we get our laws straightened out?

In Colorado a child in utero is not considered a person. Therefore, the death of that child under criminal or negligent circumstances is not considered a homicide.
