Our communities are so desensitized by the culture of death that many of our fellow citizens do not recognize the horror of abortion. However, the undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress, which exposed a fetal body parts trafficking scandal, recently pierced the apathy, even making some staunch abortion supporters question Planned Parenthood.
The scandal spurred over 600 pro-lifers to attend a rally in front of Planned Parenthood on August 22nd in Colorado Springs. On October 4th nearly 300 life witnesses lined Academy Blvd in the annual PPCFL-sponsored Life Chain, and more life witnesses participated in the 40 Days for Life campaign. We believe our latest Every Life Matters billboard reflects the intentions of all these witnesses.
Locally, Pikes Peak Citizens for Life is contesting our desensitized culture by running ads on cable TV, in newspapers, and in rush hour radio programs. We host internet and Facebook sites, publish a monthly newsletter, conduct educational presentations, and staff booths at various events. For instance, at the Colorado State Fair this year we provided vocal advocates to greet the more than 500,000 attendees and proclaim the value and dignity of human life through education and assistance at our Life Booth, including aid to a young man needing help to re-sensitize his girlfriend to the life within her.
We also help you select candidates who are not desensitized to life by conducting political candidate surveys at election time, soon to occur again.
Please join our efforts to re-sensitize our community by making a financial donation today. Your gift funds these essential local efforts, “because every life matters.”
